Hello, and welcome to my writing and performance art online portfolio.

I've been an international professional writer and performer for over 25 years. With a background in journalism, creative writing, dance and aerial, I find the intersection between all of these skills lands itself somewhere under the term "storytelling." In fact, my company, Stellaria Creative Company, specializes in highlighting all of these art forms while lifting voices of diversity, equity and inclusion by promoting artists and writers from a multitude of backgrounds.

I hope that you enjoy your time here. Please feel free to drop me a line!

Jeanette has over 25 years of dance and theatre experience spanning from New York, France, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, to L.A. She has performed in Super Bowl XXXVII, the 2004 NBA Summer League, Disneyland’s “Dance the Magic” Parade, aboard the Norwegian Cruiseline’s Gem, in the “Circus of Nations” show at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, as well as California's Great America's "Halloween Haunt" and "Tricks and Treats" events. She was contracted to choreograph for the GLEE! Project, a musical production off-Broadway (T.S. Eliot’s The Wasteland: The Musical),, and aboard trains for Roaring Camp Railroads. She has also worked as the choreographer for an ABA basketball team in L.A., as well as resorts in Manzanillo, Cancun, Turks and Caicos, and Florida, where she picked up aerial dance and acrobatic skills as well as stage managing and theatre creation. She returned to New York City to advance her skills in circus, dance and theatre before heading back to California to open up her own studio, Aerial Arts Santa Cruz, which she sold to focus on show production and writing via Stellaria Creative Company. Since its implementation in 2013, Stellaria has produced CounterCulture (3rd Annual Santa Cruz Fringe Festival), BackWoods and Steampunk Soiree (Roaring Camp Railroads), Pirates (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk), Bellasphere, Fantaerial and Orbital Bebop (Louden Nelson Community Center). In 2023, Stellaria will be launching a streaming platform in collaboration with Writer's Block Studios as well as featuring more authors and performance events. Jeanette also works as a brand ambassador for Continental Tires (ATM Promotions); Esurance, Yahoo! and Rakuten (GMR Marketing); Mars candy (Extreme Marketing); Miele vacuums (Productions Plus Talent); and was most recently asked to manage the team at Google for the Google Pay Activation.

Jeanette got her bachelor's degree in journalism, French, international studies and dance at California State University, Long Beach in 2007. From there, she was accepted as an intern to Dance magazine, and shortly after that was hired as the copy editor (and then later the production editor) at Movmnt Magazine. During this time, Jeanette traveled the world while writing two books that were published in 2009; "Vital Energy” and Flicker. After her move back stateside, she freelanced intermittently for Beautiful/Decay, Ehow, E.L.M., L.A. Splash, Move, Suite 101 and Valley Scene magazines. During her collegiate years, Jeanette was the managing editor for the campus magazine called DIG while DJing a radio show on campus called L’Ambiance under the alias Jazzerina Jaye. Prior to this, she spent a busy year writing, dancing and soul-searching in Aix-en-Provence, France where she published articles in French for IEFEEXpress and Ladies Room magazines before moving to Italy for a dance intensive with ProDanza Italia/USA. Before Europe, Jeanette was the city editor for the CSULB's newspaper, The Daily Forty-Niner, as well as an intern at Fox News Channel in L.A. She also wrote for Santa Cruz Style magazine and Growing Up in Santa Cruz for seven and three years, respectively. Jeanette finished her 3rd book, Alpha Phoenix, at the end of 2016 and  and just published her 4th book, Dark Star: Reclaiming Lilith, at the end of 2022. Halfway through 2023, Jeanette was head-hunted to be the managing editor of both Good Times Santa Cruz as well as Metro Silicon Valley. She's still currently working for these two weekly newspapers.
